News and Events: Energy Minister Visits Bui Project Site
   
 

The Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr Joe Oteng Adjei, has paid a working visit to the Bui Hydroelectric Project to acquaint himself with progress of work. He was conducted round by the CEO of Bui Power Authority, Mr. Jabesh Amissah-Arthur, and the Deputy Executing Project Manager, Liu Xiuping.

In his comments after the tour of the Project Site, the Honorable Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of work. >>

 
 

Hon. Dr Oteng Adjei visited the affected communities and reassured them of government’s commitment to secure their interest in the long run. At Bui Village, where he met representatives of two communities, Bui and Bator Akanyakrom, he applauded the people for their selflessness in accepting, without incidents, to be moved from their place of origin. He assured of a scholarship scheme for brilliant children in the communities. He urged them to continue dialogue with BPA to ensure smooth transition to their new resettlement.

 

The Minister also visited the Jama Resettlement Community and was impressed with the unity between both ‘resettlers’ and the host community. He thanked the chief and people of Jama and Teselima for their continuous benevolence to the resettled communities and called for continuous show of solidarity.
