BPA meets Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy and Mines      April 4 2009

The Management of BPA on Saturday, April 4, met with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy and Mines together with the various state-owned companies in the energy sector.

The meeting which took the form of a retreat in Dodowa, in the Greater Accra region was to afford the Committee first hand information on the state of affairs within the various state-owned companies under the energy ministry.

The CEO of BPA made a presentation to inform on the History, the general characteristics of the Bui Dam, funding, staffing and the current state of the project. Additionally, he commented on the difficulties associated with the project and the way forward.

Members at the meeting asked questions on the project for further clarification, which were all answered to their entire satisfaction.

Commendations were received from many especially Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Tamale Central and Minister of Communications and also a member of the committee.
