The Accra Based Team of BPA pays an official visit to the Bui Project Site
 

This was an orientation visit to the Bui Project Site by the Accra based staff of BPA. This was undertaken to let the Accra based staff have firsthand information on what goes on at the Project Site. The team begun their Tour with a trip to the Resettlement Camp located in Jama in the Bole District of the Northern Region. Mr Wumbilla Salifu (BPA Environmental Officer) was the tour Guide.

 

At the resettlement Camp Mr. Salifu showed the team  around as they posed questions from different angles.  Mr. Solomon Bondzi-Quaye (the Sepcial Assistant to the C.E.O of BPA) engaged Mr. Salifu in a short interview and some of the issues discussed were the Resettlement Grant and Resettlement Salary disbursements.  Mr. Bondzi-Quaye also enquired whether there were any plans to introduce economic activities for the resettlers so as to ensure their self sufficiency.  Mr. Salifu responded by saying that that there were such plans and added that it is a gradual process and that it will come in place  after the Grant and Salary disbursement exercise.

After touring the Resettlement Camp the team returned to the project site. where Mr. Safo Kissi (Site Engineer) guided the tour of the Dam Construction Site.  Mr. Kissi also took the team around the various camp units as well as the Medical Center on site, The Office Building of the Sino Hydro Staff, and the Workers Camp.
