BPA Public Notice

In line with the Bui Power Authority Act 2007 (ACT 740), extensive lands around the Bui gorge where the Bui Hydroelectric dam is being constructed have been acquired by Government by Executive Instrument 70 (E.I.70) of August 2008.

These lands are found in the Bole district in the Northern Region and the Tain district in the Brong Ahafo Region. By E.I. 70 all these lands acquired by the Government have been vested in the Bui Power Authority. Demarcation of the boundaries of the acquired land is ongoing. Notifications have already been sent to the land owners with interest in the acquired areas for them to submit claims for compensation.

The Bui Power Authority therefore advises the general public, chiefs and land owners to desist from interfering in any way with the said lands. Especially, the general public, companies and enterprises are cautioned from paying for any of these lands since any such purported purchase or acquisition would be null and void.
