By Safety, BPA is referring to an established process by which workmen are to follow in the course of their duty to make their work places safe. Therefore Bui Power Authority is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and will comply with all relevant regulations, standards, laws relating to safety and health at the Bui project site.

To achieve above, a Safety and Health Management Plan (SHMP) involving the Contractor and all workers on site has been put in place to ensure that all workers appreciate their working environment and the possible hazard conditions that could arise at the respective work places.

The purpose of the Safety and Health Management Plan is to provide guidance for the implementation of safety in the construction of the Bui power project. The SHMP will assist in establishing, implementing and integrating safety control, monitoring and mitigating measures for the project with the aim to:

>> Training of all workers on site periodically on safety and health issues

>> Ensuring that all workers on site wear protective personal equipment at all times

>> Preventing all site accidents and incidents which may lead to injury and damage to material

     and equipment.

>> Protecting of occupational health in relation to all work and the working conditions

>> Optimizing on site working conditions to minimize absenteeism at all times
