Facilities
Work on the transmission
lines involving the proposed line route survey was completed in July 2008.
Subsequently, line route validation, minor realignments and modification was
carried out and completed in January 2010.
The transmission lines
are:

In January 2010, a
scoping Report was submitted to the EPA. Following this, the preparation of
an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) is underway for the
issuance of an Environmental Permit prior to commence the construction of
the transmission lines. BPA has completed the consultations with traditional
authorities in all the communities along the Teselima, Kintampo and Kenyase
transmission line routes. Also, nine Municipals and District Assemblies
where the line routes traverse have duly been consulted.
Other stakeholders
including the Ministry of Energy, EPA, GRIDCo and the Forestry Commission
have made inputs into the Study. |
